RAS will host a Conference Organizers Workshop at the International Conference on Robotics and Automation on Wednesday afternoon, 27 May from 13:30-17:30 in room 303. Get answers to your questions about the organization, requirements, logistics, technical program and finances of conferences, both large and small. Speak with the experts for advice on how to make sure your conference is executed flawlessly!

RAS Member Luncheons at ICRA 2015

  • RAS Women in Engineering (WIE) Luncheon, sponsored by Disney Research
    Wednesday, May 27 - 12:15-13:45 – WSCC 3A/3B
    The Women in Engineering (WIE) luncheon provides an opportunity for all the female and male professionals who are interested in women engineering education to discuss the subjects of career path, career/family choices, and other topics. Lunch speakers are Takako Hashimoto, IEEE WiE Chair, and Jessica Hodgins, Disney Research.
  • RAS Lunch with Leaders (LwL) - Student Luncheon, sponsored by Mouser Electronics
    Friday, May 29 - 12:15-13:45 – WSCC 3A/3B
    Lunch with Leaders (LwL) offers IEEE student members an opportunity to network with RAS leaders, and get advice and mentoring on their career and research.
  • Young Professionals Luncheon
    Friday, May 29 - 12:15-13:45 – WSCC 307/308
    This luncheon is open to recent IEEE graduates, so that they can network with peers and find out more about the benefits of RAS. Speakers to include the RAS Early Career Award recipients: Robert J. Webster III, Sami Haddadin and Leila Takayama.

There is a $5 USD registration fee to attend each luncheon. Space is limited and first come, first served, so advanced registration is suggested. Registration will open to non-Members beginning May 1, subject to availability.

Existing ICRA registrants need to click the "Modify your Registration" URL in your confirmation email, or the "Already Registered?" link on the registration website. After that, review your registration and add the luncheon to your order.

2015 RAS Town Hall meeting

Meet your RAS Leadership, and those involved in the newest RAS journal, the IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters (RA-L). Calling all members of the IEEE Robotics & Automation Society, and those interested in learning more about RA-L. Get your questions answered and learn how you may be able to participate as a reviewer.

The town hall will also introduce ICRA attendees to the new IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters (RA-L) journal and explain its connection with ICRA.

RAS Chapter Chairs Workshop

On behalf of the Membership Activities Board, Chapter and International Activities Committee within the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, we invite all RAS chapter chairs or a representative to attend a half-day workshop at ICRA 2015 in Seattle, Washington, USA. The RAS Chapter Workshop will take place on Wednesday, 27 May from 9:30-12:00 in room 303.

The objective of this workshop is to facilitate communication of local chapters and the IEEE Robotics & Automation Society and to encourage a knowledge share among leaders in terms of best practices from your chapter. In this workshop, representatives from successful chapters will share their experiences, lessons in organizing the local activities and recruiting more members to join. Representatives of RAS will provide tips to take advantage of chapter resources and how to get support from RAS.

RAS Student Activities – Video Contest

Do you have a robotics idea or project you want to show off? Send in a video for the IEEE RAS SAC student video competition! Entries are due May 1st. The best videos will be presented at ICRA 2015 and posted on the IEEE RAS SAC website. Cash prizes will be given to the top three winners ($300 for first place). Be creative!!
